Types of Heart Diseases and Cardiac Conditions

At Manatee Health in Manatee and Bradenton Counties, patients receive advanced treatment for a range of heart and heart valve disorders. We treat several common and complex heart conditions, including:

Angina. A term for chest pain and discomfort, it may be a symptom of an underlying condition.

Arrhythmia. An irregular heartbeat that runs too quickly or too slowly.

Cardiomyopathy. Heart muscle disease makes it tough for the heart to pump healthy, nutritious blood to the brain and body.

Coronary heart disease. The most common cause of heart attack, plaque (cholesterol deposits) clogs up artery walls and impedes blood flow.

Heart failure. The heart muscle struggles to circulate oxygen-rich blood and can’t keep up with increasing demands.

High blood pressure. If the force of blood against the heart walls remains too high, it can damage blood vessels.

Pericarditis. Inflammation of the tissues surrounding the heart can be quite serious.
